As of January 8, 2025 the United Kingdom will require US passport holders to secure an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) if visiting or transiting through the UK, even if you are not going through UK border control before connecting to another flight. Travelers may apply online for the ETA using this link:

The ETA is typically processed within 3 business days, costs approximately $12 and is valid for two years from the date of issuance.

Good news to share: The U.S. State Department has announced that its online passport renewal portal is now open for business.

Passports for adults [aged 16 and older] will still cost $130 for a passport book, $30 for a passport card and $160 for the two.

The wait times are still six to eight weeks. Clients who are first time passport applicants will still have to go through the traditional process.
