2025 is a Jubilee Year, a Holy Year in the Catholic faith. Held every 25-years, the Jubilee Year welcomes the faithful to seek spiritual renewal and invites pilgrims to enter the four major basilicas in Rome, passing through Jubilee Doors that are normally cemented shut.
We will visit Rome’s Four Major Basilicas: St Peter’s Basilica, the Basilica of St John in Lateran, the Basilica of St Mary Major, and the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls.
After visiting Rome, come with us to the Puglia Region. Let’s discover together the sights, tastes, and gorgeous seascapes you’ll find nowhere else… like Matera, where the Sassi houses are caverns and the streets are sometimes the roofs of other houses… a Roman amphitheater… Trulli houses, tiny fairy castles made of limestone slabs, built without mortar… and some of the best beaches in Italy.
Discover Renaissance frescoes in Galatina. Stay multiple nights in “masserias,” fortified 16th-century farmhouses turned into elegant hotels. Enjoy wine and olive oil tastings at vineyards yet undiscovered by the maddening crowds… tour of a medieval castle enticing with soul-stirring views and wines… and meals tempting with bounty of the sea and land…
We will be joining a Tauck small group, averaging 24 guests – A small group size means a more personal travel experience highlighted by stays at chic smaller hotels in fabulous locations chosen by our friends at Tauck.
Our group will enjoy:
A two-night stay in Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Basilicata, with sightseeing by tuk-tuk and guided exploration of the Sassi cave-dwelling settlement
Two nights in the Baroque city of Lecce, known as the “Florence of the South”
Lunch at a winery known for Puglian Primitivo wine
A visit to Alberobello’s famous limestone trulli houses
16 meals, including 5 dinners with local wine pairing
From the stunning scenery to the fun experiences, this cruise vacation is sure to delight! We’ll be happy to create for you a perfect European vacation if you wish to extend your holiday.
